How can I find plans for a harp guitar or acoustic guitar?

I've been playing guitar for about 3 years and have gotten pretty good at it. I recently became interested in the playing the harp, but unfortunately I can't afford to pay thousands of dollars for one. I heard about harp guitars which sound like a perfect alternative to getting a harp because not only would it be cheaper, it's also a lot easier to carry around, and would allow me to play guitar as well. However, no local music stores sell harp guitars, and the only ones I could find online cost thousands of dollars, and as with the harp I can't afford to pay that much for it.
That's why, instead of buying a harp guitar I'd like to try to make one. I'm sure it will be difficult and it might not turn out that well, but it seems like it would be worth a shot and would be fun to do. I'm not very experienced with woodworking, but if I have trouble my dad is very experienced with it and I'm sure he would be able to help me out. He also has a very vast collection of tools that he'd allow me to use.
Where can I find some plans for a harp guitar? If I'm unable to find any I might be able to make some by modifying plans for an acoustic guitar, I would much prefer to find harp guitar plans though. I've noticed that there are many videos on youtube that show someone building an acoustic guitar, and there are even a few videos of people making harp guitars. I can also probably find plenty of information on how to make an acoustic guitar online. Unfortunately that probably won't be enough so I need some plans so I know what parts I need to make, the proper dimensions for all of the parts, and the best type of wood to use for each part.
Also, how expensive will it be to make a harp guitar? Wood probably won't be a problem for me because I have a lot and it won't be too much to get more, although i suppose it could if I need to use a more expensive type. I'd like to make one that would look a lot like this: http://www.bkahn.us/hg.htm with somewhere around 20 strings. How much would it cost for all of the tuning pegs, frets, bridge, levers, and saddle? I know I could get guitar strings for the guitar part of the harp guitar, but what sort of strings would I use for the rest and how much would it be to get those?

The most important thing is that this bookshelf needs to be strong. Not only for the books, but because I want to put pillows and blankets in the middle and read there. So it needs to be able to hold about 130 lbs in the middle. I also don't know how to go about making the base, so it's doesn't roll..
So, is this possible and how do I do it? (:

I think I would start with
(2) 4'x8' sheets of 1/2" plywood.Lay them side by side creating an 8×8 square.
Next buy a set of drafting Trammels and a rod to mount them to.Here's a picture of what they arehttp://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi
Now find the dead center of your 8×8 square.Put the pivot point there and swing a 4' radius completely around the center point.Next, shorten the radius of the trammel to 33" and swing another full circle.The difference between the two circles is where your shelves will go.Each shelf in this case will be 15".
You will cutout the OD and the ID by following the lines you have drawn.The two separate sheets of plywood will be conjoined with two metal plates about 18" long and 12" wide.That will hold the two halves together rigidly.
Can you see where this is going?I'll stop here for now.If you want more help let me know.

I'm empathetic with your cause since I only graduated a few years ago the experience is still fresh in my mind. I know how distressing relationships are in high school, whether its boy/girl, friends, teachers. One thing I wish I did in highschool was not care so much what people thought. Another was have more fun.

That said, if it makes you uncomfortable and nervous you'll be focusing on how you are perceived which can be nerve racking. So transfer out if you are uncomfortable there's no reason you should put yourself through that. If anyone says you are a quitter, they are in the wrong. You shouldn't do something you aren't happy with.
However, if intro to tech is something you are passionate about, don't let being the only girl stop you, just focus on your work and you can ignore them. Who knows if you stay you might nab a man. 😛 They might think you're a cool girl who can hang with the guys.
That's pretty much your options and a reason behind them, but the decision is ultimately yours. Hope I've helped.

Woodworking/Furniture stain?

Okay so I am making a piece of furniture and I am done with everything i just have to stain it. The customer who I am making this for said that to match her other furniture it has to be stained dark brown, almost black. I am 20 and just getting my carpentry business off the ground and this is a major purchase and this would be a huge lift for me. It sounds like you are asking for trouble without getting an exact sample from her.Cherry and Walnut are two different spectrums here.
So what we used to do in the piano restoration biz is have them come in for a color match.
You have samples of scrap boards, hopefully of similar wood, premade up for her to pick.Have her "sign-off" on the approval on a document.If you dont do this,I guarantee you, if not her,thensomeone else will make you re-do it,which may be impossible do to the nature of the design etc.
But as far as the actual staining.You may need to use aniline dyes,stains,grain filler , glazes and spray stain to make it what she wants.
If it's light wood and tight grain,you for sure will be dyeing, spray staining to get it dark.Solid wood will be much harder than veneers to get correct and evenly colored.

I'm working for my woodworking project for the fair next year…and I'm kinda stumped. I KNOW already that I want to make a recipe box..and I'm making two of them. One for my recipe box for Foods, and one for woodworking. I have a couple ideas already in mind. I want the box to have a stand on top to put the card on when working…and have it able to fold down. It also has to be a fairly wide recipe box, but pretty thin. I don't have too many recipes to put in it.
Anyway, I kinda have an idea of what I want it to look like..but I have NO idea how to make it. Basically…I kinda want it to look like the following link…but with a few changes.

So I JUST finished this years fair…and I want to get a big head start on next years, since I'll be gone a lot…and busy. I'm in the grades 9 and up category for everything, which is kinda important. I know I'll be doing Photography, and what I'll be doing for it, but I'm trying to think for sure what I should do otherwise. Here are my ideas.
Either a dog/cat poster: ideas? I have cats at home…no dogs.
Woodworking: ideas?
foods: I'm thinking of muffins. And at least two other things. ideas? I'm a pretty experienced cook.
These are the ones I'm really thinking about…but arts & crafts or drawing/painting might be in there too. Any ideas for any of my categories?

Im sure they are willing to help you! They will probably even pick out the best ones.
Woodworking is a little tougher are you a boy or girl? it would be nice to see bird houses and nice wood painted vases and frames.
try doing something a little bit easier like origami or maybe do jewelry
food: well pineapple upside down cakes & cupcakes, mini pies, even banana nut bread is good! mmmmmmmmm
well ….. arts and crafts…… you could always make felt smellers….
take some felt, ribbon, cotton balls, cool buttons and beads, hot glue, and some good smelling perfume, and design a really good felt smeller!!!!even have your own, make your own packages!

Of all hand tools, I have noticed that there is an inordinate amount of interest in hand planes. Websites exist that are entirely devoted to hand planes, including the collecting of them, making your own, reviews, etc. There are plane makers that create planes costing thousands of dollars. Wood hobbyists are always talking about planes. So what gives? What is so special about a hand plane? Why not a hand saw, hammer, chisel or drill?
